Kris & Kathy, Owners
Twin sisters, Kris & Kathy, are the founders and owners of The New You Salon. They opened the salon in 1970, and have happily served their clientele ever since. Their talents are geared for retail knowledge and customer service.
Kris loves creating a "New You". Whether it is Color, Highlights, Lowlights, new cuts or Perms... Kris has vast knowledge and the experience to create a style for everyone from teens to grammas. She is delighted to recommend our products and services based on personal experience. Kris works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Kathy brings an abundance of knowledge to her craft, always sharing it with her clients and her staff. She has extensive training in Fine, Thin problem hair. She is extremely multi-talented and excels in Color, Perms, and Hair Cutting as well as up-do's for special occasions. Kathy works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Lindsay
Lindsay is an award-winning stylist with 11 years in the profession. She is an extremely talented and creative stylist and her confidence shows in her work. Lindsay's expertise is in color, whether it be highlighting or mastering some of the most phenomenal techniques in the industry. Her special-occasion styling, cuts, and texture waves are absolutely the best! Lindsay is always willing to accommodate her clients and works a full time schedule.
Kate
Kate has been with the New You Salon since 1998. She is excellent at creating rich colors and vibrant highlights as well as improving existing problem colors. Kate enjoys designing stylish and youthful male and female cuts, and gives her clients tips on how they can replicate the finished look at home. Some of her specialty services include lash tinting, facial waxing and truly magnificent up-do's and makeup. She offers fun seasonal promotions and a large variety of hours to provide her clients with the best experience possible. Kate's upbeat personality and accommodating attitude make her a wonderful addition to our team.
Kelly
Kelly has been a stylist for nearly three decades. She enjoys helping mature friends with fine hair bring out their natural beauty. Highlights, Hair Color & Perming as well as shaping your hair in a style that suits you best are her specialties. She looks forward to working with you to develop a hair style and hair care routine that best fits your lifestyle.
Kelly works Mondays and Fridays.
Lori C.
Lori has been a stylist for 28 years. She does some of the greatest short cuts on both men and women. Lori is a versatile stylist who will listen to you and give you the result you desire. A stylist with a positive attitude you can trust your entire family to. She enjoys color, perming, and styling curly hair -- working with the natural curl or blow drying it smooth. Lori works Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Carolyn
Carolyn has been with the New You Salon for the past 17 years. She enjoys cutting men's, women's, and children's hair. Her passion is hair color, and her in depth consultation will assure her clients excellent results. From head to toe, she can create a new look for any client. Her continued education and advanced classes in Matrix Hair Color and products are what gives Carolyn her edge. Carolyn also specializes in Body Waxing including brows, facial waxing, upper lip, bikini, Brazilian, leg waxing, etc.. She works Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Rita
Rita has been in the industry for over 30 years. She is licensed in three states, however Michigan is her home. She maintains balanced enthusiasm for the business, continuing education and a diverse clientele. She particularly enjoys hair color including highlighting and dimensional color. She loves doing up-do's and it shows. Rita works Wednesday, Friday, Saturday.
Lori W.
Lori W. has been doing hair for 25 years, and with the New You for 16 of them. She is experienced in both long and short haircuts. If your hair is thick or thin, Lori W. will spend the time to create the perfect style for you. She loves to do highlighting and low lighting to enhance your existing color. Perms are another service she provides with beautiful results. Lori works well with mature male and female clients to achieve the look they want. Lori is available Fridays and Saturdays.
Beth
Beth has been a stylist in the Birmingham area for 23 years. She continually updates her skills though seminars and hair shows. Her specialties include: Fine hair, Perms, Color, Hair Pieces and Roller Sets. Beth works Fridays and Saturdays.
Donetta
Donetta has been a stylist for over 25 years in Birmingham. She has been with The New You Salon for 6 years.
Donetta has studied in London with the Sassoon Educators as well as the Paul Mitchell Team. She specializes in hair color and short cuts. She continually keeps her education up to today's standards. Donetta works Monday and Thursday.
Lisa
Lisa is a welcomed addition to the New You. Her experience unsurpasses even the best of stylists! A previous salon owner herself, Lisa knows the importance of customer service. Her work speaks for herself. She is a very dedicated and focused stylist, with a lot to offer. Lisa works Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Kelly K.
Kelly is an excellent stylist offering her clients the latest hairstyling trends and color techniques. Kelly works Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Doug
Doug has joined the staff at The New You and brings 30 years of experience with him. Doug is dedicated to staying on top of his profession and continues his education to this day. Doug has studied with various instructors including the legendary Vidal Sasson. Doug is comfortable with all types of cuts and hair lengths as well as men and women clients. He is a very personable stylist and loves giving his clients the time and attention they require. Doug works Tuesday through Saturday.
Carrie
Carrie has been a skilled nail technician for over 19 years. She has been with The New You for the past 12 years.
Carried specializes in Acrylics (including Pink and Whites), Pedicures, and natural manicures. She continually keeps her education fresh and current. Her nurturing personality keeps her clients coming back for more! Carrie works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Teri
Teri is a consummate professional who has 24 years experience as a nail technician. Teri is very skilled in Acrylics (including pink and whites), popular during the Summer months and with Bridal Parties. She enjoys all aspects of nail care including manicures and pedicures and is timely and efficient. Teri's great sense of humour contributes much to a fun atmosphere at the New You Salon. Teri works full time.
Gina
Gina's basic and advanced training includes a degree with the Creative Academy for Nail Enhancement Study. She enjoys all aspects of the beauty industry, however she believes that her greatest strengths are taking care of feet. According to Gina, "Feet are the most neglected part of our bodies and if not taking care of properly, many problems can occur as a result." Call for an appointment today, and put your feet in Gina's hands.
Gina works Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Jackie
Jackie has been a nail technician in the Birmingham area for 24 years. The last 14 years have been with the New You Salon. Jackie specializes in acrylic, fiberglass and manicures. Along with her already fun, exciting and diverse clientele, Jackie is looking forward to adding you to her list of satisfied customers. Jackie works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Shelly
Shelly has been with the New You Salon for many years. Licensed for over 15 years, Shelly helps out in many different areas. She is certified as a Body Wrap Technician and loves this part of her job. "It is great when you can see such a dramatic inch loss in people, and see the smile on their faces", say Shelly. Shelly is also skilled in natural nail care for hands and feet, as well as bikini waxing. For an inch loss, detoxifying Body Wrap... you will definitely want to ask for Shelly.
Carli
Carli is a certified massage therapist specializing in therapeutic massage. She has provided our clients with the utmost in massage focusing on your problem areas. Using moderate to very deep pressure to release tension relaxes our clients in a comfortable, and professional atmosphere. Carli has extensive training in treating headaches, carpal tunnel, low back pain, and prenatal massage. Available during evening and weekend hours.
Eryn
Eryn has been a receptionist and stylist's assistant with the New You Salon since 2000. Customer satisfaction is paramount with Eryn. Her positive energy and friendly smile are always present.
Barb
Barb is our friendly receptionist who is much more than a receptionist! A graduate of Walsh College, Barb coordinates the entire retail operation at the New You Salon. Professional, courteous, patient, detail oriented, upbeat and aiming to please every customer. That's Barb!
Ban
Ban has worked at the New You Salon ever since she received her cosmetology license in 1994. She works on Saturdays not only booking appointments, but also servicing our facial waxing clients. Her waxing specialties include lip, eyebrow and chin. Ban is a cheerful, energetic employee that takes her time with each client to ensure 100% satisfaction.
